Charles Hinman (b. 1932) is an American, abstract artist who worked for over five decades on elaborate three-dimensional canvas paintings. Hinman's work explores the boundaries of light, shadow and shape through his use of complex wood structures created with precise mathematical formulae.
This print belongs to a 1972 portfolio, and includes a total of eight variations on shadow, color, and shape on embossed paper to convey the three-dimensionality of his paintings.
