Bob Adelman (1930-2016) is an American photographer who captured historic and artistic photographs for over sixty years, covering subjects ranging from the Civil Rights Movement to the New York art scene, urban culture, social essays, politics, music and more.
Here, Warhol is captured with twelve screenprints of “An American Man,” a portrait of Watson Powell, Sr. – founder of American Republic Insurance Company.
During the 1960s, Bob Adelman spent extensive time in Andy Warhol's Factory, photographing Andy on his red couch, in the foil covered factory rooms, and with silkscreens of Marilyn, Liz, Elvis, and more.
